Hola Vecinos!

Saturday night we had the pleasure of meeting some of our neighbors.

They are a Panamanian family with 5 children.  Ian went over to place futbol (soccer) with the boys, and found out they have a daughter Ahna's age. We saw some of the boys playing futbol outside and Carol (Nana) asked Ian if he wanted to play futbol with the boys and Ian was shy and unsure. Carol sensed Ian security and asked if he wanted Nana to go with him to meet them. After 5 minutes of thinking and pondering; Ian said yes. One of Ian's goals for our time in Panama was making friends. Thank you Nana!

Boys and Lego's

Ahna with Analyse and Nemesis

Awaiting dinner

Learning 21

Sunday was our chance to have them over and all 5 came over including 2 year old Analyse.  Yes same name as our Ahna.

Lego's transcended all culture and communication  much to Ian's relief! While they played we kept hearing them say, 'Harry Potter'. Ian had a Harry Potter Lego set.   There is still a language barrier and the kids are a little reticent to use Spanish. It was great when we told Ian to just go get his Lego's and all the boys started playing and creating their own treasures.

Ahna played Mini clip with her new friend.

In exchange for Lego's, Ian and Ahna learned how to play 21... at first we thought it was poker and it still may be, but nothing we were familiar with.

Then we invited the kids to stay to dinner. At first Ian kept coming to Dan to look up phrase on Google Translate so he could communicate with our new friends; then to save time he gave the computer to the kids. Our neighbors then ran to there casa and came back with their own laptop and to use Google Translate as well.  It was a funny sight to behold, but all were happy  and thank goodness for Google translate! whew!!!
